Gotta Start Somewhere!

As I sit here and finish my last late night snack, I think about the top reasons why I need to get healthy and lose this big belly (and arms, thighs, fingers, butt, etc.) of mine.

  • my girls
  • my health
  • getting myself back

Right now I am about 300 pounds.  I have gained over 100 lbs in the past ten years and am only 29.  I have had two children within the last two years, but can only attribute about 60 of that weight gain to my girls and have no excuse for keeping it on.  I don't have the energy that I should and I don't feel as happy as I think I should be or really am underneath.

My first step was a little talk with my PCP.  He checked me out and thankfully, other than being a BIG girl, I am pretty healthy...

....for now.

He had a few suggestions and I am going to go talk with a nutritionist and am going to a bariatric seminar next week.  I am also going to blog about my journey to my 30th birthday as a way to keep myself accountable.

I need to be healthy for my girls and get myself back!
